Gay Romance

For Damien, passion brings ecstasy, betrayal and danger that almost cost him his life. At the lowest point in his life, he discovers that true passion and loyalty have been staring him in the face all along. There is one problem he must surmount first, Dax is straight and carries a lot of baggage. What neither of them realize is that sometimes passion can also bring healing. That is if one is brave enough to take the first step. In a perfect passion, one must be willing to take the risk.

This was my first gay romance novel. I won't lie it took me a bit to really get into it. Which had nothing to do with the author or the writing or anything and all to do with me. Now that I have that out of the way let's begin.

I loved how she had Aaron as a crazy stalker ex. It brought a sense of realism to the novel. I hate books that have a break up for whatever reason and they stay friends or its no big deal. However, Piper didn't do that. she showed the other side to a break up the more than likely to happen side. Where one person is pissed, so pissed they become a crazy stalker. That happened to be Aaron. He didn't take the break-up with Damien so well and oddly enough I loved that factor.

I was a bit iffy on the relationship/introductions to Damien and Dax building a relationship. It was to "fantasy world" for me. I do not know many, if any at all, guys that would act the way Dax did when Damien started to kiss him. Most guys I know would freak out. Another thing is how quickly they went from "I don't want a relationship" to lets see where this goes was a bit fast. I felt the book could have been longer and really build that relationship instead of jumping right to the sex.

Now on to the sex. I was unsure how I would feel about a gay sex scene in a book. I didn't know how the author would portray it or write it. However, the very first sex scene you really got the feel that Dax was new to that lifestyle and that Damien would ease him into it. It wasn't rushed like most sex scenes are in novels. To me that made it seem more like a real life scenario. The only thing about the sex scenes I didn't like was how after the first time there was no awkward stage. That to me ruined the realism of the sex scene.

All in all this was a good novel. I would definitely suggest if you want to try a gay romance novel definitely use this one.

Romance

You are cordially challenged to a test of true love.
Growing up in her large, crazy Serbian family, Camryn Covic became an expert at shutting down her emotions in order to maintain her sanity. But when she loses her apartment, her job and her boyfriend all in one day, she hits her breaking point.
Worse, if her family finds out she’s single again, her sister’s upcoming wedding will be a disaster. The bride-to-be has a plan, though. A plan that involves an old friend, a pretend relationship…and the probability of ending up in a padded cell. This time for real.
Troy Lanske agreed to the crazy plan only because, when he was a lonely foster child, Camryn was his lifeline. But she isn’t the idealistic girl he remembers. She’s become so jaded that she doesn’t even believe in love anymore.
He sets out to restore her faith in happily-ever-afters, but his plan backfires when the fake relationship begins to feel all too real. Falling for the one woman he can’t have could mean losing more than just his honorary family. He could lose everything.
Warning: Contains a Playgirl-material hero and a woman who thinks she couldn’t be any more wrong for him. Enter one “Big Fat Overly Romantic Serbian Family”. Sit back and watch the magic happen. Enjoy!

--------------------------------------------------------------

Where do I even begin for this book. I was hooked from page one. Camryn and Troy have that relationship you where you get all giddy when they start to realize things and then get all mad when they want to act against it or try to prevent it. I absolutely loved this book.

A little more in depth look into my mind and this book. For the characters I felt they were all really well defined. Camryn definitely came off to me as someone who is a bit uptight and never strayed from what she defined as normal or her routine. Troy was definitely a bit more relaxed and enjoyed life. His struggles from his childhood and how they affect him at present age came off nicely. You could always feel the sexual tension and love both Troy and Camryn had for each other but were scared to admit it. Camryn's family was really funny to watch how they did things. There was something for each member you could probably point out and find in your own family. They were a grade A normal psycho family.

I loved that at the begin of each chapter there was a "Life Lesson According to Camryn". I screen capped every single one and made this collage of them. I have no problem putting it on here because you can't read them all and it's really not a spoiler in my mind. The quotes really don't give away the story line.
I loved seeing how sentimental Camryn and Troy were to each other. Bringing back memories from their childhood to help each other grow and learn. This book really was highly loved by me and I would be all for a sequel showing where Camryn and Troy's life takes them. Hell, a short story on their wedding would be even entertaining with how Camryn's family is. I highly suggest EVERYONE read this book especially if you love ROMANCE BOOKS.
