Review:

Brax and Jazz had it all...I was hoping this story would be unicorns and puppy dogs throughout the book.  I wanted to watch this couple, this family to have it all, perfection.

I enjoy the interaction between the Sorrentino family brothers and their parents.  They surely had a lot of fun when they were together.  Jazz has always wanted this family and now she had it.  Nothing could ruin it, right? So many families are torn apart, to see a family that is as strong as the Sorrentino's was refreshing.

What anyone could possibly think could ruin this family, will NEVER guess the twist in this story.  Jazz's life is turned upside down and I am not sure how she will ever come back from it.

I enjoyed the twists and turns of this story.  I was a little disappointed in Jazz's reaction to the news. She was a dedicated wife and mother, I would have never thought she would handle this bump, maybe mountain, in the road, by running away. I am not sure how someone would handle this situation, but with her dedication and love for her family, I would have never expected her to just leave her family behind.  However, I also have no idea what she could do to "get over" this.

Can this unbelievable love between Brax and Jazz keep this family, a family?

The author has the ability to write a story that brings you into the story was remarkable.  She is detailed in her descriptions of the surroundings and feelings of each characters.

I look forward to reading about more of the Sorrentino Brothers.

Review

Ahhhhh....Bella Jewel has gotten me...hook, line and sinker.
I enjoyed the back and forth of the story... the now and then!  We also have a dual POV in this book which is one of my favorite ways to read a book.  So many times we are wondering what the other characters are thinking, but Marcus and Katia keep the story going.

We see the relationship of Marcus and Katia from the start.  Marcus seems to be the cold hearted man he wants everyone to see, but as the book continues, we find, he really does have a heart...maybe. Katia is a naive woman, who just wants to love and be loved by her husband which isn't a lot to ask, is it?

Marcus has his motives and as time goes on, you see the transformation and it's so nice to see.  The twists and turns in this book will make you drop your kindle and so "What the HELL"!  Bella kept me reading to see how this twist would affect the relationship between Marcus and Katia.

The sex scenes in this book are steamy and hot...Bella isn't kidding when she says 18+ for this book.  My kindle may be overheated a few times while reading.

Just hoping that the next book comes out soon because there is on helluva cliffhanger at the end of the book!

Thank you Stephanie S. for guest blogging for this review!

We were introduced to Rachel in the Infinity Series. She is Charlie’s best friend. Rachel is a pixie power house, an alpha woman! She is driven and knows what she wants and will not let anything get in her way – not a man, a marriage or anything else can take her off of her path. She sets off to start her career after graduating from Texas A&M and then the Warton School of Business at Penn both with honors. She begins her career working for Senator Jones starting right alongside him as he is elected Senator and stays with him as he becomes President Jones. Her long hours and hard work pay off as she becomes the White House Chief of Staff; not only the youngest but the first female Chief of Staff. She has now reached a point where her life is going to change. In one year her job will end when the new administration comes in. She meets Graham who teaches history and lacrosse at the school the president’s son attends. Graham is not like any of the men Rachel has known.
I exit my home-away-from-home, and make my way through the White House. This is a very familiar walk for me.
“Good evening, ma’am,” Samuel says as I near the double doors he’s guarding. I like him. He’s about the size of a house, poker-faced, and does his job—well. That’s a huge positive in my eyes. Finding people who are good at what they do is a rarity.
“Samuel.” I nod in his direction as I stop in front of the entrance to the First Family’s private living quarters. “The President and First Lady are expecting me.”
“Yes, ma’am,” he confirms as he double-checks the typed list. “Just a moment. There’s another guest who’ll be here shortly.”
“Oh, okay,” I reply a bit perplexed. I’m not usually kept waiting. Glancing at my watch, I note that I’m right on time—nine o’clock.
“Hi,” a confused male voice says behind me. “Is this where I’m supposed to be? This place is a maze.”
“Graham Jackson?” Samuel asks.
“Yes,” the voice replies.
The smell of Ivory soap with a hint of woodsy cologne causes me to turn my head just enough to check out the man entering my peripheral vision.
This guy is way too pretty.
He offers me his hand when he arrives at the double doors. “Graham Jackson. I’m Drake’s lacrosse coach and history teacher.” He looks like he should be starring on some contrived soap opera instead of teaching and coaching high school kids. He’s wearing dark jeans that appear to have been painted on his body. I might actually see the outline of his thigh muscles. His white, tucked-in Brooks Brothers polo accentuates his dark olive complexion. His wavy mahogany hair falls nicely against his prominent cheekbones, and shows off his strong jaw. He’s maybe in his early thirties, or he could be in his late twenties.
But then he smiles. His clear blue eyes light up, and one single dimple appears under his right eye. Is this guy for real? Something that I’ve learned in my thirty-eight years on this planet is if they’re pretty, they’re either gay or way too high maintenance for my taste.
“Rachael Early, White House Chief of Staff,” I reply as I shake his hand. I bet all his female students have had at least one wet dream starring their history teacher.
“I know,” he says with a shy smile and a dip of his chin. “I watch and read the news. You’re better looking in person.”
For some reason, I find his comment, or maybe it’s how he delivers it, disarming, and I laugh. “Usually, I hear, ‘I thought you were taller.’ I’ll definitely take better looking.”
And so it begins…..Rachel and Graham have amazing chemistry. Graham is sexy, confident, charming, sweet and very naughty. He wants it all with her. Rachel finds she can’t be with Graham the way she has been with other men (physical release only). She starts to question herself and her decisions. Were her sacrifices worth it?
So life gets all in the way! We get to see glimpses of Colin & Charlie and even Aiden! My heart was in my throat in the last chapter! I was yelling at my Kindle!
And so now I must wait….for Graham’s story…..

Rating: 5/5 Stars
You don’t have to read the Infinity Series to read this book but I would suggest reading it at some point.

Maybe Not - A Novella

Maybe Not

By Colleen Hoover
Published by: Atria Books
Release date: November 24, 2014
129 pages

Kindle Edition

Colleen Hoover, the New York Times bestselling author of Maybe Someday, brilliantly brings to life the story of the wonderfully hilarious and charismatic Warren in a new novella, Maybe Not.

When Warren has the opportunity to live with a female roommate, he instantly agrees. It could be an exciting change.

Or maybe not.

Especially when that roommate is the cold and seemingly calculating Bridgette. Tensions run high and tempers flare as the two can hardly stand to be in the same room together. But Warren has a theory about Bridgette: anyone who can hate with that much passion should also have the capability to love with that much passion. And he wants to be the one to test this theory.

Will Bridgette find it in herself to warm her heart to Warren and finally learn to love?

Maybe.

Maybe not.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Who doesn't love surprises?
This is what I thought when Colleen announced this surprise novella...So darn excited!!
Colleen Hoover has done it again. This time with the fun and quirky relationship between Warren and Bridgette (from Maybe Someday fame)...In Maybe Someday we got a glimpse of the relationship between Warren and Bridgette and this book will explain it all!
This book is not a continuation of Maybe Someday, but is written during the same timeline...we even see a few scenes with Ridge, Sydney and Maggie.
You will, I am not even exaggerating, you will LAUGH OUT LOUD! You will also swoon, smile, maybe shed a tear and your stomach will get butterflies at the sweet moments between Bridgette and Warren.
Some of the questions that may have come up in your mind while reading Maybe Someday...who is Bridget?  How did she come about being a roommate if no one really knows her?  Why is she always so angry? Why is she such a bitch? Colleen has brilliantly answered all those questions int his fun, sweet and steamy novella.
The steamy sexy scenes between them are unlike the Colleen Hoover scenes you are used to from her. We saw a little hint of the sexy side of Colleen Hoover in Ugly Love, but ummmmm...this book they are even steamier! Another amazing read by Colleen Hoover, but I never expected anything less!
And don't worry, their is some serious pranking going on in the book!!
Thank you Colleen for this present.  Feel free to release these novella's whenever the mood strikes you!
Yesterday's Half Truths
Yesterday's Half Truths (Carolina Days Book 2)
By Carey Heywood
Self Published
November 24, 2014
Kindle Edition
Synopsis
She never thought it would go this far.
It started out so innocently, but now has taken on a life of its own. Problem is, Lindsay Palmer doesn't know how to stop. Even worse, she doesn't want to stop. Her daily deceit has become both her greatest pleasure and deepest shame. Thousands of people love her, but would they if they knew the truth.
A simple favor for his baby sister brings Lindsay into Luke Jamieson's life. There's something about this girl that keeps her on his mind hours and days after each time they meet. Now here he is, falling in love with a liar. All he wants is for her to let him in, and maybe together he can lead her out of the cage of her own construction.
Will the truth set her free, or have her lies already destroyed everything?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Carey Heywood is another one of the authors I had the opportunity to meet at Romance Riot in NYC.  Prior to going to NYC I had a goal to read at least one book by each of the authors and I am so glad I did. When the opportunity to read and ARC of this book, I jumped at the chance.
I actually read this book without even looking at the synopsis. I just jumped right in.
We are introduced to Lindsay, a super cool and chic fashion blogger.  She has a secret. From the outside, she’s just like a lot of my friends. I have many Facebook friends that I have never met, but I can relate to.  She has become a fashion blogger with quite a following.  She is contacted by a high school nemesis and invited to the class reunion.  She is on a mission to attend but with her quirks will she be able to get herself there and feel comfortable? Her thoughts are not unlike many women, this one included.  Learning to love yourself, inside and out, is just one of the lessons that Lindsay learns. (I need to do this myself!)
I don’t want to get too far into what Lindsay’s secret is because I don’t want to ruin it for you.
We meet Luke, the loveable personal trainer brother of one of Lindsay’s few inner circle.  Luke is your normal guy (who happens to be absolutely gorgeous) who has nothing but Lindsay’s best interest at heart. He slowly but surely gets Lindsay to trust him.  He may be a bit pushy at times (well, at least Lindsay thinks he is), but his reasoning behind caring is not full of an agenda, he truly wants whats best for her.  He is one of the truest, most genuine characters I have read in a book in a while.  We are always reading about the alpha males but the nice boy next door is my favorite character to read about.
I think this book is such a refreshing change to the normal alpha-male-saves-the-damsel-in-distress book that has flooded the market.  This book has a serious undertone with laughter, smiles, tears and genuine friendship woven throughout it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What can I say about a book with 20 hot and steamy love scenes? Well, it's exactly what it says it is.
20 pretty amazing authors have compiles some the hottest scenes they have ever written.
And well, they delivered.  A few of the authors I have read and enjoyed re-visting with them (IE: Colton and Riley- I could read the Driven Series over and over again).  I also enjoyed having the chance to read some authors that I have never read before.  A few of my favorites were Rebecca Shea - Landon and Reagan surely got my kindle steaming up!!  I have already one clicked Undone (and Unbreakable because Undone was book two, and honestly, I one clicked book 3, because Rebecca Shea has captured my attention with the one scene in this book! Denise Grover Swank grabbed my attention too.
My only concern with the book was that I was thrown into a story and I became attached, and many of the scenes were from books from a series.  I have so many books on my TBR list that now it has grown exponentially!
I believe that these anthologies are meant to introduce readers to new authors and to remind us why we like other authors. I enjoyed being able to read some different authors I might not have otherwise read.
Brilliant idea Jasper Ridge Press!!
LS teaser
                       Excerpt
Without warning, we’re on the bed, wisps of charcoal vapors swirling around our bodies. I’m flat on my back with Dorian hovering over me, watching, waiting for his influence to overtake my consciousness. While his body doesn’t touch mine, his mind—his beautiful-fucking-mind—begins to infiltrate every part of me. Sliding over the surface of my skin, so soft and light, like the silkiest feather. Pinching my sensitive nipples and raking down my belly. Igniting heat between my thighs until my panties are damp with desire.
I feel him all over me—teasing my pleasure points with his phantom touches. He moves in closer, so close that our lips nearly meet, yet he still won’t kiss me. He still won’t let me taste the sweet longing that is undoubtedly tempting his tongue. I lift my head to take it from him only to find that I am bound to the bed, completely under his control.
I’ve been here before. I’ve been under Dorian’s spell enough times to know how this will play out. He’s a man of dominating control, and today has been nothing short of chaos. He’s taking it back. He’s taking me back.
“Touch me,” I beg, my voice breathless with agony.
“No.” His eyes spark with white fire on that single word, showing the torment of his restraint.
“Please,” I whimper. “I need you to touch me. I need to feel you.”
“You feel me now,” he rasps.
“No. That’s not enough.”
“Oh? Not enough?” Pressure spikes in my core and I cry out as sensation snakes through my swollen sex. He doesn’t move, but I feel him there—touching, licking, even biting. Soft and hard, hot and wet, all at the same time.
“I can feel you throbbing, Gabriella. It hurts, doesn’t it?”
“Yes.” My voice is an intelligible squeak. It does hurt, yet it feels oh-so-incredibly good. Dorian’s pain is the most potent form of pleasure.
“I feel the hardness of your nipples—how they ache to be licked and sucked. You want me to do that, Gabriella? You want me cover your nipples with my mouth and run my tongue over them? You want me to squeeze them between my teeth right before I suck them, baby?”
“Yes, Dorian,” I manage through a sob.
“And when I’m done teasing your nipples, you want me to run my tongue down…” Another jolt of electricity stings my sensitive flesh. “…down…down…until it meets that soft, sweet place that hurts you so bad? You want me to kiss it and make it better?”
I try to nod through the haze of lust and agony, but I can’t move. I can only feel him owning my body in the most delicious way.
 Review for Light Shadows
This may be one of the hardest reviews I have ever written.  I have said a few times now, I don't read paranormal.  I guess I need to just change my statement on that.  I guess I DO READ paranormal because in one week I DEVOURED all four books in this series.  The conclusion, Light Shadows was nothing like I thought it would be.  It had me on the end of my seat...always.  Honestly, I admit I spent more than a few minutes on a few occasions, sitting in my car reading. I couldn't put it down.  I will also admit, I texted a friend who read the book too to vent.  This book has twists and turns but all of which I followed and wasn't confused.  I have found with a few of the paranormal or sci-fi books, I find myself confused...a lot.
Syreeta Jennings was introduced to me with her book Taint.  The cover grabbed me and I HAD to read it.  This book's cover did the same.  It's beautiful but it was the relationship between Dorian, Gabriella and Nico that solidified my love of this series.  Of all the books in the series, this was my favorite.  I cried, I laughed (usually at something Nico said) and I held my breath for more than a few chapters.
This review isn't complete without giving SL Jenning's a standing ovation for her ability to write some of the sexiest, most compassionate, hot, panty soaking love scenes that I have ever had the privilege of reading....holy moly, girl, YOU are the Queen!
Gabrielle said it best when she said
"Naked. Dorian Skotos, the god of f*ck hot, is naked with bedhead"
The image of that in my head is absolutely x-rated and thank you for that mental image SL Jennings!
I don't give 5 stars to really anyone, well maybe occasionally. I am going to go out on a limb and give this book a ROUSING 5 out of 5 stars...I am a SL Jennings reader for life.  If she choose to publish her latest shopping list, I think I would buy it...don't miss out on this amazing conclusion to a series that now sits in the top 5 of all series for me!
Synopsis
Love. Sex. Magic.
Before her 20th birthday, Gabriella was pretty much clueless about all three. In love with her best guy friend since the age of 14 and too crass and intimidating for most of the male population of Colorado Springs, love and good sex were virtually a myth.
And then there’s magic. Freakin’ magic. There’s no way that legend could have a place in her less than exciting life. So why after twenty years of utter obscurity do her adopted parents hit her with the ton of bricks that is her true identity? And how the heck is she supposed to accept all this and become what she was truly created to be?
Lucky for Gabs, sexy as sin Dorian is more than equipped to help her embrace these new revelations. And while everything about him feels oh so good, she soon learns that there’s more behind his crystal blue eyes, chiseled body and exotic beauty. Something dark, menacing and downright unnatural. Yet Gabs is in way too deep to even try to turn away from him now.
Dark Light, Book 1 of the Dark Light Series, is the raw, emotional story of a young woman’s journey of self-discovery in a world that was not meant for her. And her scorching hot, lip-biting addiction for the man she can’t deny, no matter the cost.
*Contains strong adult content.
Review of Dark Light
I am sorry to say that I have had this book on my kindle since January.  I am not sure how this happened.  I am sure someone said to me to read it and I was not 100% sure about reading a paranormal book.
I am currently kicking myself that I have waited this long to meet Dorian and the bad ass that is Gabriella!  At times Gabiella is a bit dense, but I honestly don't think she is as clueless as she seems at time.  I think her feelings for Dorian have her mind so clouded, she doesn't see what's obviously in front of her.
Gabriella was a "normal" 20 year old girl until she met, Dorian.  A tall dark handsome stranger who will change her life forever.
"Maybe Dorian really is a creeper.  A ridiculously sexy, alluring, gorgeous creeper that I wouldn't mind being accosted by in a dark alley"
Dorian has this hold over Gabriella, but as the book progresses, we see that Gabriella also has a hold over Dorian.  This isn't a one sided relationship.  They are drawn to each other.  In their worlds, that shouldn't be happening.
And Dorian can sweet talk like no other...
"I want to take my time with you.  Torture you slowly.  I'm going to savor every second of you undoing."
**Picks self up off floor**
I have said it already, but SL Jennings is a master at writing love scenes, they are intimate, raw, hot, sexy, dirty and no holding back.  I almost need a moment after reading them myself.
Synopsis
Dorian Skotos is Dark. And although that brand of sheer, unrelenting evil is a direct threat to her life, Gabriella is tragically in love with him.
Gabriella knew it was all too good to be true. The way his touch radiated electricity right to her core, the way his ice blue eyes somehow made panties drop involuntarily, how his sexy half-smile crumbled the barriers around her heart…Dorian was extraordinary in every way.
She ignored the alarm bells for the sake of pleasure and a little slice of peace from her mixed-up life. She thought that whatever he was, she could help him. Maybe even change him. But now that the proof of Dorian’s true identity and what he was sent for is staring her in the face, Gabriella can’t deny the inevitable. And confronting that truth could very well slaughter more than just her fragile heart.
***Intended for readers 17+ for sizzling hot sex, violence & language.
                           Review of
                      The Dark Prince
Gabriella knows who and what Dorian is, but her love for him is too strong to make her turn away.  This book was a roller coaster.  Love, hate, light, dark...it's all in there.
In The Dark Prince we meet, Nikolai.  The charming younger brother of Dorian.  We see a friendship begin between Gabriella and Nikolai. He is an arrogant, fun loving, and loyal friend and brother.
Gabriella needs to trust Dorian and it becomes harder and harder as their time together is jeopardized.  As her ascension nears, she needs Dorian but he is unable to be the one their for her.  We see Niko become that one go-to person.
My heart breaks for Gabriella and Dorian in this book but their love is not what is meant to be and being together may not be the best for everyone.
There is again, so super hot sexy scenes, more violence than the 1st book but it's necessary to the story to show the seriousness of the situation between Dorian and Gabriella and the Dark and the Light...
Synopsis
We met Nikolai in The Dark Prince (Dark Light #2). Now learn his story...
Two centuries ago, I clawed my way into a world of immorality, filth and destruction. A world seething with secrets and lies, both mortal and immortal.
Complete and utter Darkness.
I know we’re supposed to be inherently evil, but something inside me refuses to fully believe our legends. Something that calls out for more…calls out for her.
But there are rules. Rules that control the balance of nature. And if broken, it could destroy everything I’ve ever known. It could destroy me.
I am Nikolai Skotos, son of Stavros and Delia, and brother of Dorian, the heir of the Dark throne. I am one of the most powerful Dark forces to have ever walked this earth.
And I once was lost.
Now, I’m about to give it all up for the girl that found me.
*Recommended for mature readers only due to scorching hot sex scenes, explicit violence & Niko's potty mouth.
    Review of Nikolai
Nikolai is a novella and sometimes I think readers think they are little, after thoughts but this novella is vital to the series.
In this book, we learn about Niko, what makes him!  Once you read this you will understand why he is the way he is.  Prior to this novella I was all about Dorian. After reading Nikolai, there is a special place in my heart for this dark and tortured man.
Amelie was his one love and he will always be changed for knowing her.  In The Dark Prince he's a smart mouthed, man-whoring, arrogant boy.  But in Nikolai we meet the man beneath the hard exterior.
"Amelie was my dream.  She was my life.  My Love. My reason to breathe."
